SCC budgets for 2027: due by Saturday, 31 October
All Small Christian Communities (SCCs) are strongly encouraged to finalise, review and tidy up their 2027 Budgets without further delay. Using the template provided, each SCC should prepare a realistic budget showing expected income, pastoral priorities, proposed projects and fundraising activities. The budget must be discussed and approved by the SCC before submission to the Mission Station Executive no later than Saturday, 31 October 2026, for onward transmission to the Parish Finance Committee. A well-prepared budget is essential for responsible financial management, effective pastoral planning and the successful implementation of our parish mission. Every SCC must do its part: no community should delay or neglect this important responsibility. Let us plan responsibly, budget realistically and work together for the growth of our Christian communities and the mission of our parish.

Catholic Education Week 2026: Sunday, 1 to Sunday, 8 November
All parishioners, parents, teachers, learners, school administrators, past pupils and people of goodwill are invited to celebrate the Catholic Education Week under the call to promote Catholic education, transform lives and give hope to the less privileged. All our Catholic schools are encouraged to organise meaningful activities that highlight the quality, identity and positive impact of Catholic education in academic excellence, moral formation, Christian values and service to society. A major highlight will be the Bishop’s Education Fund Collection, which will be launched next Sunday and concluded on Sunday, 8 November 2026. The collection enables the Bishop to support the education of less privileged children and youth in our Diocese. All schools are therefore urged to participate actively in the collection and encourage learners, parents, staff and other stakeholders to contribute generously. Let us work together to ensure that financial hardship does not deprive any child or youth of the opportunity to learn, grow and fulfil their God-given potential. Let every school shine, every child be valued, and every generous heart help to keep the door of education open to those most in need!
Fundraising for the Wukari altar: Sunday, 1 November
As we prepare to welcome Bishop Mark Maigida Nzukwein of Wukari, Nigeria, from 1 to 9 December 2026, let us show our solidarity with his Diocese, whose cathedral was destroyed by a mysterious fire. We are invited to contribute towards the construction of the altar of the new cathedral, estimated at 1,320,000 F CFA. A special fundraising will be made for this purpose on Sunday, 1 November 2026. Every parishioner and person of goodwill is warmly invited to participate through a free and voluntary offering according to their means. Every contribution, however modest, matters. Those unable to give financially can support the project through prayer. This is an opportunity to share our faith, practise Christian charity and support our brothers and sisters in need. As St. Paul reminds us, “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Let us give freely, love generously and trust in God’s blessings as we help to rebuild hope in Wukari.
