The Bishop of Wukari visits Nkambe, 1 to 9 December
We welcome the Most Rev. Mark Maigida Nzukwein, first Bishop of Wukari in Nigeria, and stand with his diocese as it rebuilds St Mary’s Cathedral, destroyed by fire.
The Most Rev. Mark Maigida Nzukwein, first Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria, will be with us in Nkambe from 1 to 9 December 2026.
Our guest
Born on 15 July 1969 in Jenuwa Nyifiye, he studied Philosophy at St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, Makurdi, and Theology at St Augustine’s Major Seminary, Jos, and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Jalingo on 15 July 1995. After a Licentiate in Catechesis and Youth Pedagogy at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome, he was Rector of Sacred Heart Minor Seminary, Jalingo, from 2002 to 2016 and Vicar General from 2008, then Rector of St Augustine’s Major Seminary, Jos.
Pope Francis named him the first Bishop of the newly created Diocese of Wukari on 14 December 2022, and he was ordained bishop in Wukari on 13 April 2023. His ministry is given to evangelisation, catechesis, the formation of priests, and peace and reconciliation in a region marked by communal tensions.
Help rebuild St Mary’s Cathedral, Wukari
Fire has destroyed St Mary’s Cathedral, the mother church of his young diocese. We may not be able to do much, but as we welcome him, let our welcome become a concrete gesture of faith, love and solidarity. No contribution is too small!

FCFA amounts are approximate, at about 0.44 FCFA to the naira (October 2026).

On Sunday, 1 November 2026, Christ the King Parish is raising funds towards the altar of the new cathedral, estimated at 1 320 000 F CFA (₦3,000,000). Please prepare a generous offering according to your means.
