Resolutions of the Parish Pastoral Week 2026
The ten resolutions and recommendations adopted after the evaluation and discussions of the Parish Pastoral Week Celebration.
Following the evaluation and discussions during the Parish Pastoral Week Celebration 2026, the following resolutions and recommendations were adopted.
1. Promotion of Infant Baptism
The Parish shall continue to educate and sensitise parents on the importance of Infant Baptism and encourage them to have their children baptised at the appropriate time.
2. Strengthening Church Groups
All Church Groups are encouraged to develop attractive and meaningful programmes and activities capable of drawing more Christians into active participation in the life and mission of the groups.
3. Planning for major collections
The Finance Committees of the Parish and of our different Mission Stations are encouraged to plan and prepare for major parish, diocesan and pontifical collections well in advance, so as to enable families and individuals to participate more generously and meaningfully.
4. Preparation for the Deanery Pastoral Week Celebration
Adequate planning and preparation shall be undertaken to ensure fruitful participation of the Parish in the Deanery Pastoral Week Celebration, scheduled to take place from 18 to 19 September 2026 in Binju.
5. Contributions towards the Limbum Bible translation
All contributions from the Mission Stations towards the translation of the Bible into Limbum shall be submitted to the Parish Office no later than Sunday, 27 September 2026.
6. Support for the Bishop’s Retirement Home
A portion of the 50% of the proceeds from the 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving earmarked for parish projects shall be allocated towards the construction of the Bishop’s Retirement Home.
7. Sensitisation for the 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving
The Parish Pastoral Council Chairperson, accompanied by Mrs Nyuyie Emmaculate and Mr Ndi Richard, shall visit all the Mission Stations to sensitise Christians on the importance of making the 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving a more fruitful and generous expression of gratitude to God.
8. Harvest Thanksgiving targets
The minimum Harvest Thanksgiving target for each family shall be:
- Nkambe — 50,000 F CFA
- Ngwayuh — 50,000 F CFA
- Moh — 30,000 F CFA
- Njema — 25,000 F CFA
- Konchep — 10,000 F CFA
These targets are intended as minimum contributions and should encourage families, according to their means, to give generously in thanksgiving for God’s blessings.
9. Launching of the 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving
The 2026 Harvest Thanksgiving shall officially begin on Sunday, 4 October 2026, with the launching led by all members of the Parish and Mission Pastoral Council Executive Committees.
10. Monthly contributions towards the 2027 Chrism Mass
While the Small Christian Communities continue their regular collection of contributions towards the 2027 Chrism Mass, all Church Groups in the Parish and its Mission Stations shall organise a collection in support of the Chrism Mass on the second Sunday of every month, beginning on Sunday, 13 September 2026. Likewise, all SCCs shall organise their collection towards the Chrism Mass on the third Sunday of every month, beginning on Sunday, 20 September 2026. All responsible leaders are encouraged to ensure that these collections are properly organised, recorded and remitted to the Parish Office in a timely manner.
